Off and Running

2014 got under way quick this year. Headed off to Marana for the GCPRA rodeo, it was a good showing for contestants for the weekend. Saturday proved to be a good day for all of us. Brandon got 2nd place in the Bareback riding, I finished up 1st,  John who cracked out his bull rope ended up winning the Bull Riding and finished just out of the money for Bareback riding. Then our biggest test of the year so far hit us the next week, I found out that I have a bad back, well I knew that but not to the extent it was. Brandon decided he could use his hand for a home made BBQ with flames and all. But serious he ended up burning his hand 3rd degree burns, has been in the burn unit at St Lukes all week. His hand with the blisters swelled up and looked like a super mario brothers hand. So please say a prayer for him for speedy recovery. Kyle Marley who was added to the group this winter had been busy fighting bulls every weekend at Buffalo Chip. Giving all the lock rowls a protection when they get off their bulls. Chance Stone in the Saddle Bronc riding at Marana placed and got him some early money for the standings. Next is Lake Havasu. Brandon and myself will not be entering. Brandon has to get healed up, I have a senior pro in Buckeye the same weekend. Chance plans on entering up on Sunday and John will be there in both the Barebacks and Bull riding. I think we figured if we get this stuff out earlier in the year the healthier we will be later in the year, that’s our mind set anyways right now. With winter rodeos we get to relax a little bit more in between runs before the hustle and bustle of late spring rolls around heading into summer runs of late night drives and long hauls. I hope everyone is off to great start for 2014 and we hope to see you down the road. Until then take a deep seat, get that far away look in your eye and let the good times roll.
