Well the 2009 rodeo season is winding down. Last weekend we were in Benson, AZ. A neat little one night rodeo they put on yearly. Its a lot of fun, the stock is always good and its tough in all the events. JT won first on Sandy Loam and I placed second and Brian won the last hole in the Saddle Bronc riding. It did come with a price, towards the end of his ride the bronc was really getting him lose in the saddle right after the buzzer he hung stirrup and got raked off by the fence post. It knocked him out. He didn’t have his marbles the rest of the night. I talked to him the other day and he sounded a lot better. Were all heading to Parker this weekend, second to last rodeo of the year before the Finals in November. Out finals this year are being hosted by Gilbert Days Rodeo. Its a perfect fit for us being centrally located for all of our contestants to get to. Looking forward to it, should be a good time as always. Looks like we will have some outstanding stock again supplied by W/A and Scott Mcdaniels rodeo company. JT has the year end wrapped up for the bareback riding, I’m pushing for the reserve year end spot and Brian has the bronc riding wrapped up. Colby is pushing hard to get back to riding shape, he went to Wilcox his first rodeo back since surgery, he handled it well. It will take him a few head to get back into riding shape. But I think he is well on his way. All four of us should be up at the finals with chance to win some big bucks.
After Parker I think we will all be taking some time off to heal up and then start getting ready for the finals. Its so hard sometimes, a guy pushes hard all year and when the end of the year comes around you sure are excited to spend more time at home and relax. The trick is staying in shape, sometimes a guy can get to relaxed and then next thing he knows the finals are starting. The motivation starts to relax a little. But knowing we all want to make a good strong showing at the finals I think we will keep in shape and be ready to roll when it come around.
I know we are all hoping to go to Brawley, Ca in Nov the winnings there count towards the 2010 standings for the PRCA. It will be fun to get back out and compete against the best in the world. So I have a feeling we will be motivated to stay in shape.
I will post a update after the parker rodeo on twitter so be looking for it. I apologize I have gotten a little relaxed in that lately and been lazy getting out blogs out to everyone to read. I will try harder to stay on top of it as we head into the finals. Until next time spur up.
