Hello all its been a few weeks since I have bloged any anything. Well we are two weeks away from the Laboy Day rodeo weekend.
Brian and JT are heading out to Reserve, Holbrook, Ramah and Belen, NM. I decided to stay home and rest up, we have a big push going into this fall and this is one of the last weekends to rest up and heal up.
Brian and JT have a good haul this weekend, Rusty Despain who brought us an extra rodeo at Holbrook told them he wold hold there horses for them if they hustle from Ramah to Holbrook. Here is the situation Ramah starts at 7 NM time which is an hour later than AZ time. They then will wait for Brian to finish riding and then drive about 75 miles to Holbrook which starts at 7 AZ time. Remeber Brian is in the Bronc riding so it will be at least 7:45 NM time before they hit the road to Holbrook, Brian said he was going to talk to the Stock Contractor at Ramah to see if he would let him get on his bronc in the Bareback riding. If that happens then they should make it time to Holbrook about 15 mins into the perf then JT can get on his Bareback horse during the bronc riding at Holbrook. That should do if for them, but if they run a 5 minutes late one way or the other it will be a photo finish for them, might be getting on there mounts during the bullriding, the last event for a rodeo. I will update to how it turns out for them, down inside I wish I was going a little knowing they will be pushing that hard, it will be a good time for them.
I came up with a tatoo for us, its called the 232, the W in Wildbunch is the 23rd letter and B is the 2nd letter. (actually Brian came up with this) The tatoo is my design I still need to show it to the guys to see what they think and put there input into the design…
Like I said we have big push coming up and part of that push is we getting back our Pro cards September 2 so we can hit some early 2010 rodeo’s. I’m pretty close to hanging up the spurs so I really want to give it one more shoot at the big time, JT has proved over and over agian that he is ready for the next step, he has been riding some consistent and spurring them all the same. Brian has proved the same thing but also knows its time to step out of our comfort zone and give it hell. With all that said with NMRA and GCPRA rodeos and the pro shows we can go every weekend to the end of November. The GCPRA finals got moved to Gilbert from Wild Horse Pass. This is I think a better move for our association, the Gilbert Days rodeo has always been a IPRA rodeo which is fine but over 90% of the contestants were AZ cowboys which none of them were IPRA members, we always co-sanctioned it with them so our members could have there money count towards something to help them. But Gilbert has a great arena and facility to host our finals. We will need to figure out the stock contractor situation though, it should be opened up to all our stock contractors to bring the rough stock animals. Three head average with up to possible 15 BB riders everynite can make it very tough for one Stock Contractor to keep the pen even with only his stock. But I’m very happy that we are having the finals there and the stock contractor who has it has some very rank animals to boot.
Well its getting late, I will update you on how Brian and JT get along this weekend and let you know our Labor Day weekend run. It should be a good one with the fort and Sonoita it will be a blast.
Well until next time get that far away look in your eye, take deep seat and nod your head cause its about to get western. Spur up..
